Edgewood College Ministries

Education for Peace and Justice

Edgewood College is sponsored by the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters and shares with them in their mission statement: "As Sinsinawa Dominican women, we are called to proclaim the Gospel through the ministry of preaching and teaching in order to participate in the building of a holy and just society."

Edgewood College also shares in their vision statement:
"In a world graced by the Holy Spirit but also wounded by divisions, exploitation and oppression, we are impelled by God’s tender mercy to commit ourselves in partnership with others to seek and foster right relationships among all of God’s people and with the earth that sustains us."

Edgewood College's
Oxfam Hunger Banquet 2007

Over 850 million people worldwide face chronic hunger, even though our planet produces enough food to feed every man, woman, and child, according to Oxfam America.
