Nominate A Faculty Advisor

In recognition of the importance of advising to students' educational development, each year the Office of the Academic Dean invites nominations from faculty, staff, and students to acknowledge a member of the Edgewood faculty who exhibit the characteristics of an excellent academic advisor.

These recipients where recognized as portraying the following characteristics:

  • knowledgeable about college programs, policies, procedures and resources

  • meticulous about requirements for the major/minor

  • proactive in contacting students when necessary

  • readily available for students

  • approachable when students have questions or concerns

  • communicative in helping students sort through their academic options

  • patient and accepting of students as individuals

  • someone who assists students to develop both short- and long-term goals

  • someone who takes an interest in students' well-being

  • able to help students see the "big picture"-- takes a holistic approach to a student's life at the college and his/her goals for the future

  • an academic mentor who provides guidance and support
