Milton--The Math Lab Fish
Officially christened Milton F. Diesel, Milton
came to the Math Lab in Fall 2006. He was named at our
open house. See
below for the
official results of the naming contest.
Milton
is available to help you with assignments as well;
unfortunately, if you can't speak betta, he can't help you very
much... What he CAN do is offer moral support. He
can also give you good vibes for your exams. Since he
lives in a fairly "mathy" area, he tends to know what's going on
in most classes on campus!
Milton does have a
Problem of the
Week. Feel free to submit an answer in the Math Lab.
A number of reasons, really. If you come
to Sonderegger 408, you'll notice that our wall is actually made
of windows. If you think about it, we are in a giant
aquarium, with the rest of campus to watch us work.
Also--we wanted a mascot, and Milton the betta
was pretty cool...and easy to care for.
Anyone coming to Sonderegger 408 was able to
submit a name for the "Name the Fish" contest. Voting
occurred at our open house on November 8. Counting took
place at 1:35pm; results are available upon request.
