Workshops for Spring 2007

Fiction writer and Edgewood College Writing Specialist Angela Woodward is offering two creative writing workshops this month, free to Edgewood students.

Workshop I – Wednesday, March 14, 7-8:30 pm, in Regina Res Hall 2nd floor study lounge

Workshop II – Wednesday, March 28, 7-8:30 pm, in Wingra Commons

Students can come to one or both workshops. Activities will focus on guided exercises for expanding creativity, exploring sensation and memory, and generating ideas. The workshops are meant as an alternative to the judged and graded practice of college writing. The activities are welcoming to beginning writers as well as seasoned practitioners in any genre. Emphasis is on process and invention rather than on critique of finished work.

About the Presenter:
Angela Woodward’s book of short prose The Human Mind is forthcoming from Ravenna Press this spring. Her fiction has appeared in numerous literary magazines, and her work has been adapted for the stage and performed in Chicago. She teaches English and runs the Writing Center at Edgewood College.

Getting into Regina:
Go up the stairway closest to the chapel entrance. Someone will be at the door at 6:45 to let participants in. Off campus students and residents of other halls are encouraged to attend.

For more information: contact Angela Woodward at 663-3293 or awoodward@edgewood.edu.
